pest exclusion
Pest exclusion is an important first step in an integrated pest management program.
When implemented correctly, it assists in longer-term pest control while reducing reliance on other treatments, including chemical products.
Physical methods of pest management include proofing of harbourages, nest sites, roosting areas and access points. Pest exclusion may be as simple as securing fly screens, filling cracks and crevices with silicone, fitting door seals or blocking access holes in the roof.
Food processing and export companies rely heavily on pest exclusion as chemical products are not to be used in these facilities.
