Termites

Termites live in nests and colonies of individuals numbering from a few hundred to millions. Although often referred to as 'white ants' they do not resemble true ants. They are mostly brown to pale white, have no constriction between thorax and abdomen and have beaded antennae. Workers and soldiers are blind, sexless and wingless.

In typical colonies the queen lays eggs which develop into workers that tend to the nest, or into soldiers that protect the colony from ants and other insects. Nests can take years to develop and need a constant source of moisture.

On average, one in three housing blocks in Australia have termites active in yard areas and one in five houses have evidence of termite infestation. Termite treatment is a very specialised task, best left to professional pest managers.

To take the first step in discovering how susceptible your property is to termite attack, simply book a Murray's Pest Management Consultant to conduct a free, no obligation Termite Risk Assessment of your property.

The consultant will explain our range of termite management treatments and inspections most suitable for your property.
